Agreeing with Stan H - the cube started production in 1998 and is currently onto its 3rd design model while the scion as you know it (the Japanese BB which stands for black box) started production in 2000.

You have it backwards, I would get it straight before ranting - on the other hand, you would make a good fox news reporter

I think you're taking the Cube too seriously. Isn't a car a 'mobile device?' You say it predates the Scion and Element but then bash it for being a knock-off.

On the knock-off point, however: people in general, including designers, feed off of good ideas. Naturally, when you see someone else with a good idea, you want to improve it. The more perspectives, the better the idea becomes.

The shag carpeting may be silly, but the Cube is a silly car. I'm all for beautiful and unique cars, and I think the Cube is in that category. I would think the shag carpeting would be a useful place to put a small object w/o having it slide around? We have enough boring car clones in the world. I for one welcome the Cube to America. =)

Perhaps more research is in order - the original Nissan Cube predates the Scion XB (which actually was Toyota's responce to the Cube). It is one of the best selling vehicles in Japan and Toyota is still play catch up.
I am biases since I own a Cube, the fact that it is unique was one of my main reasons for purchasing it - that plus the fact that it is one of the few small car that fits my 6'2" frame.
