The Georgia Historical Society (GHS) launched a Georgia Historical Marker app for iPhone. The app was developed by Smack Dab Studios and allows users to view historical markers in the areas of Georgia that are close to their exact location.
Users can see details, photos and text about the markers. The app also gives directions to the markers from the user’s location. The app is free and available on the iTunes App Store.
“Now history enthusiasts from all over can access historical marker sites and information on their iPhones while traveling in Georgia,” said Todd Groce, president and CEO of GHS. “This is just one of the many ways GHS hopes to make history more accessible to the general public.”
