For the second year, bands on their way to South by Southwest stopped by the coastal city for the Savannah Stopover.

But some artists don’t have to travel far.

Students and alumni made up a number of the weekend’s acts including Word of Mouth, Roland, Triathalon and Hot Plate.

While the shows sometimes draw smaller crowds, local bands more than make up in heart.

During Roland’s set at Blowin’ Smoke BBQ on March 10, Corey Hines had a guitar malfunction.

Instead of calling it a day, the remainder of the band proceeded to cover the Kings of Leon song “Four Kicks” while Hines revived his stringed friend and helped his band mates finish off the cover.

Watch below for a clip of Roland playing their song “Trying Now” and for more photos from this year’s festival.
