Remember in kindergarten when the best foods were the ones that you could eat with your hands and no one would say anything about your lack of forkage? Or they were the kinds you could run out the door with, a snack in one hand and a ball in the other?
And in school, usually you’d get to enjoy said snack right before recess or right after – because as a kid, your entire day focused around recess. Running around outside, playing kickball, dodge ball or hanging from some metal jungle gym – those were the good ol’ days.
Your school would serve some healthy-ish type of snack to keep you’re energy levels up. And you needed that energy for craft time and learning. Peanut butter was the go-to food because peanut butter is delicious on everything and most kids like it.
This burrito is kind of the same idea. The best part about these little burritos is you can mix up the ingredients. Options are the spice life. And if you make a bunch all at once and put them in the fridge, you can just grab and go (who needs Danimals?).
This snack rolls up the best parts of your childhood and it’s perfect for when you need a quick snack to get through studying or to take with you when you’re heading to class. And you can run out the door with it in one hand and your laptop in the other.
Black And Tan Burrito - Portable and tasty.
Ingredients:
tortillas
peanut butter
Nutella
1 banana
Honey Nut Cheerios
Prep time: 5 minutes
Step 1: Take the tortilla and spread a layer of Nutella on it.
Step 2: And then go ahead and spread some peanut butter. Apply liberally, unless allergic. If allergic, try Jet-Puffed Marshmallow Creme or jam. Or if you’re watching your figure, go for yogurt.
Step 3: Slice the banana and put the pieces on the black and tan layers of deliciousness.
Protip: Apples are also good. Feel free to experiment.
Step 4: Next, take a handful of Cheerios and place them on top of your fruit.
Protip: Cereal is optional. It’s also limitless, so you could use Cap’n Crunch, Grape Nuts, or even oatmeal.
Step 5: Roll it up and enjoy. Just because now you’re an adult who doesn’t get a recess, you still should have snack time.
