SEAM is the Savannah Emerging Artists Movement.
According to South Magazine SEAM is “a multi-tiered group fashion and art series-of-events featuring Savannah’s finest emerging talent.”
Last weekend SEAM hosted a three-part event that included a Meet the Designers and Pop Up Shop at local vintage shop ARC and a Launch Party at the Sparetime located at 36 MLK Blvd.
SEAM is the product of collaboration between Dollhouse Productions and Crazy Horse Savannah. Crazy Horse Savannah is a photo shoot production service started by fashion photographer Doug Ordway.
The launch party at the Sparetime kicked off with music and dancing as the DJ played songs that brought the crowd from the bar downstairs to the loft on the upper floor. At midnight, local musical talent Triathalon took the stage to entertain a fashionable crowd with a live performance that both devoted fans and new ones enjoyed.
Ordway has also produced the Savannah Fashion Night Out for the past couple of years. After visiting Savannah for a few years, Ordway noticed a growing fashion consciousness in the city.
SEAM’s series-of-events continues with a Runway Show at ARC on June 1.
The runway show will begin with a cocktail reception, where guests will be able to purchase select items from the designers “right off the runway.”
Proceeds from the show will be donated to AWOL – an organization that provides arts and technology education for at-risk youth.Contact Adeshola Adigun.
