“127 Hours,” Danny Boyle’s new film has caused physical reactions including vomiting and fainting at many film festivals where the movie was screened. Movieline.com put together a timeline of film fesivals where the movie caused such reactions.

At the Nov. 6 premiere of “127 Hours” at Trustees Theater the film was stopped so that a moviegoer could be taken out of the theater. An ambulance was called and EMT responded.

Students who attended the film screening reacted in different ways to the film’s pause.

Graduate student Derek Pickens said, “That’s the first time I ever experienced something like that. And I kind of freaked out about it.”

“I have the up most sympathy for him [the moviegoer] and I hope he’s OK,” said third-year film and television major Nikita Carpenter. “However, I think in the future he should know that this is going to happen to him and he should refrain from going to movies like that.”

“It was kind of surreal,” said fourth-year photography major Tyler Goldman. “Nobody really knew how to act. The movie was a killer, almost literally.”
